ASHA Foundation works for street animals and birds providing free treatment for the city of Ahmedabad. Mr Harmesh Bhatt a law student from Pune university started the ASHA Foundation 3 years ago. The facilities include a mobile clinic a hospital and shelter service. It employs 8 full-time staff members including a veterinary surgeon animal catchers a driver and a caretaker. They have 2 ambulances half an acre of land and an operating theatre. A second operating theatre and consultation room are currently being built. There are 24 kennels and cages for birds and dogs.
