AYURVED CHAKRAVARTI Shri Govindprasad Vaidya the doyen of the Indian medical system Govindprasad Vaidya. He was not a miracle performer but the way in which Govindprasad Vaidya revived the peoples confidence in the age old Ayurveda can certainly be described as a miraculous feat no wonder this earned him the title of Ayurveda Chakravarti . During a short span of one and a half decade he created educational and research facilities such those to match with the modern medicine faculty in those days being the first chancellor of Asias first Ayurvedic University in Gujarat India. Records show that in those days patients going to Ayurveda Bhavan in Gujarat were more than those going to Asias biggest civil hospital in the city as what we call him as Bapuji today had brought all the fame and prosperity to vaidyas and Ayurveda itself. He brought research projects botanical gardens university nine colleges and twenty hospitals to the state of Gujarat. In short the Ayurveda system saw its golden era and experts from America Germany and European countries visited the state to study the development of the Indian system and Bapuji was showered with awards and praises at home and abroad. In spite of the ups and downs that usually come with success Bapuji always infused life into the institution known as the Ayurveda University that is the only one of its kind in the whole world. The Ayurvedic herbs will always blossom more and more. It is he Bapuji who has given Gujarat the prestige of Ayurveda brought this field up and developed so much research in health diagnosis of diseases and treatment original methods of Ayurveda knowledge of herbs its efficacies education new herbs botanical garden herbs newer formulations and newer products and more research and given all these and so much more to human mankind that he has gifted all this to us the legacy goes on through the continuation of the process of the system of Ayurveda through us.
