Gujarat: Pioneering Sustainable Initiatives Marketing the country's first Solar Cooker in the market to now commissioning grid-connected renewable power generation projects GEDA has treaded a long pathway of 33 odd years and putting Gujarat on the World renewable Energy Map. GEDA the first State Nodal Agency (SNA) and the State Designated Agency (SDA) involved for the promotion and popularization of alternative and energy efficient technologies. It is the forerunner to CASE (Commission on Additional Sources of Energy) and MNES (Ministry of Non- Conventional Energy Sources) now MNRE (Ministry of Renewable Energy) model for other State Nodal Agencies. And currently in 2009 the Government of Gujarat established Asia's first to have established an exclusive 'Climate Change Department'.
