Wishing you all a belated "Happy New Year". It's a great pleasure & privilege to get back to you through website. First of all let me thank the members of Zone A for electing me as the president of this prestigious association. This I consider as a great Opportunity to serve the surgical fraternity of our state. It is indeed my pleasure & I thank you all for giving Me this opportunity. Dr. R . M. Kamdar from Bhavangar Dr. Jayant A. Shah from Nadiad Dr. Bharat K Shah from Surat Dr. Vithalbhai C. Patel and Dr. A. B Kothari from Vadodara and Dr. R. M. Choksi and Dr. Haribhai L. Patel from Ahmedabad prepared the constitution and Gujarat State Surgeons Association was formed. At that time Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) did not have provision for State Chapters. Later such a provision was made by ASI. Different States were requested to form Chapters and get them affiliated to ASI.
