There are thousands of children in India who primarily educated who can make sense of alphabets and words and who can read and write. However they have no sense of direction. They do not know their own talents. Unless they identify their skills they are not in a position to polish them. Back in 2009 I was volunteering for a workshop held for the students of Gulbai Tekra School by the NGO Infinity. The 21 day workshop for dance music and drawing gave me an opportunity to interact with the children. The enthusiasm and dedication in their participation was remarkable and it touched my heart. I realized how talented the under-priveleged children are and that all they need is an opportunity. This inspired me to initiate what is today known as Pehchaan. There are numerous organizations working for the noble cause of helping the under-privileged children by teaching them but what I wanted to focus on was 'extra-curricular activities'. To build on the idea I communicated with my friends. We worked out a plan and Pehchaan saw its Inception.
