In the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tearly winter of 1976 Retina Foundation \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twas established at Relief Road Ahmedabad \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tby Dr. P. N. Nagpal Professor and past Head of \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe Retina Unit at M & J Institute of \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOphthalmology B.J. Medical College \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\tAhmedabad along with Late \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tDr. J.H. Patel Honorary Professor of Ophthalmology and \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tConsulting Eye Surgeon. In the last months of 1979 Retina \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Foundation was shifted to its present \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpremises in Shahibaug Ahmedabad and Aso \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPalav Eye Hospital was also established \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tto offer efficient and cost effective \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t comprehensive eye care facilities. Over the past 33 years the services \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t \tprovided at the Foundation have evolved \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tto keep pace with the rapid developments \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tin ophthalmology in general and in the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tspecialty of Retina and Vitreous in \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t particular.
